John D. Schutt is a baby-boomer born to middle-class parents and raised near Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. Although he was trained as a classical musician, his active imagination led him to multiple careers, including wood working, cabinetmaking and homebuilding as well as becoming an executive with regional and national firms. Finding a compelling story in everyone he meets, he was especially drawn to the people of Texas and their ever-present spirit of independence. Although he has lived in many locations, has made his way home to Texas and nothing energizes him more than to live among people who possess a "Texas attitude" and are proud of their flag, proud of their land and proud of their heritage.
